The ham inside the children's sandwich was tough and stringy and as a result, inedible. The children's lunch bag contained only HALF a sandwich, along with a couple of other snacks - utterly ridiculous for any child above 3 years of age. We paid close to £10 for a chicken burger, which was presented in a bun which was so stale and dry it literally crumbled to pieces when picked up. The food quality was extremely poor and overpriced. The toilets were quite frankly disgusting (with a worrying level of cleaning given the current Covid situation) and the stench from the toilets below travelled up into the restaurant. It is unfortunate that the for some reason, the men and women's toilet area opens up into the restaurant above. Perhaps employing an education officer, as other museums do, could be a good idea? Our other disappointment was the restaurant / cafe.
Aside from this, the children were not allowed to touch anything.
The only interactive activity offered during the height of the school holidays was the opportunity to sort 6 photos of cars into chronological order. I can't imagine many children would enjoy a trip to Beaulieu, unless they are happy to wander round looking at the old cars for hours on end. We spent over £100 on admission for a family of 4 and two grandparents and left feeling short changed.
